Steven D. Stradley

General dentist Steven D. Stradley (DDS’76), a longtime member of the Indiana University School of Dentistry Alumni Association board of directors, assumed the presidency of the organization at the close of the 66th Fall Dental Alumni Conference, held September 19-20, 2008, on the IUPUI campus.

Before picking up the president’s reins, Stradley contributed a dozen years of service to the board, including nine years as a board director and one-year terms as secretary-treasurer, vice president, and president-elect.

Stradley completed his undergraduate studies on the IU Bloomington campus in 1972. He has been in practice in Greensburg, Ind., since his graduation from the IU dental school in 1976, in recent years with Elizabeth Hagerty (DDS’03), who completed a term on the IUSDAA board this fall.

“I feel blessed to be working in a profession I love and look forward to each day,” Stradley says. “I am looking forward to my daughter, fourth-year IU dental student Kathryn Stradley, joining Elizabeth Hagerty and myself in our practice next year. My youngest daughter, Paige, plans on attending law school after her senior year at Miami of Ohio.”

A past president of the Southeastern Dental Society, Stradley has also been active on the Decatur County YMCA board, in the United Fund drive, and in the Decatur County Free Dental Clinic.

“Mary, my wife of 34 years, has supported me throughout my years of practice and school,” says Stradley. “Thanks to everyone on the alumni board and staff for their support.”
