The reduction of the prevalence of root surface caries |
- To establish a methodology (ies) that is capable of detecting and monitoring root surface caries at its early stages under clinical conditions.
- To develop in vitro and in situ models that reproduce different clinical situations of root surface caries.
- To have developed one or several strategies to prevent, arrest, and/or remineralize root surface caries including the development of methodologies to prevent or reverse lesions which develop around existing restorations (secondary caries).
- To have established the histology of secondary caries in different
situations (e.g. different dental materials).
