The aging of the global population will lead to a considerable increase in the number of surgical and restorative procedures related to oral rehabilitation, periodontal and pulp tissue regeneration.

Our research efforts are interdisciplinary and encompass the areas of materials science, biology, dentistry and medicine in order to design and develop promising candidate materials for periodontal as well as pulp-dentin regeneration. Biologically active guided tissue/bone regeneration (GTR/GBR) membranes for periodontal regeneration are presently under development and testing

Another major research interest of our lab relates to the development and optimization of polymer-based nanofibrous scaffolds for regenerative Endodontics.
