Dr. Sivaraman Prakasam & Dr. Elizabeth Ramos received AAP foundation scholarships and completed the 2012 ADEA/AAL Institute for teaching and learning training program held in August and October of 2012, at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, school of dentistry, Chapel Hill, NC.
Dr. Vanchit John, Chair, Department of Periodontics, is currently Secretary/Treasures of the AAP foundation and will be President in 2014.
Dr. Vanchit John, Chair, Department of Periodontics has become a Fellow of the American College of Dentistry.
Dr. Tom Kepic, is now Co-Chair of the American Board of Periodontology, Dr. Steve Blanchard will continue to be Director until 2015
Dr. Mohammed Khalid. MSD 2012 was a finalist at the 2012 Balint Orban competition held at the AAP meeting in Los Angeles, CA
Dr. Saba Khan, MSD 2005 won the 2012 AAP Teaching Fellowship Awards given by the AAP
Dr. Sivaraman Prakasam, Clinical assistant Professor in our department was a finalist at the 2012 AAP Teaching Fellowship Awards competition held by the AAP
Dr. Steven Blanchard, Graduate Program Director has won the 2012 AAP's Humanitarian Award. Dr. Blanchard will receive this honor at the 2012 Annual meeting to be held in Los Angeles, CA
Dr. Daniel Shin an alumnus of our graduate program has joined the faculty as Pre-doctoral program Director starting July 1 2012.
Dr. Mohammed Khalid. a graduatiing resident from our department won the Shofu Dental Student Award at the 2012 I.U.S.D research day for the best poster presenation at the Master's level
Dr. Samira Toloue, M.S.D Graduate from our department won the Maynard K. Hine Award for Excellence in Dental Research
for best Graduate research paper at the 2012 I.U.S.D research day
Dr. Mohammed Khalid. a graduatiing resident from our department was placed second at the Midwest Periodontics society research forum competion
Dr. Sivaraman Prakasam, Clinical assistant Professor in our department is the winner of the clinical research award at the 2011 Balint Orban Memorail competion.
Dr. Everett Brady Hancock, Professor Emeritus and Past Chair of our Department will be recognized in November at the upcoming American Academy of Periodontology Meeting to be held in Miami, Fl as an "Outstanding Periodontal Educator"
