Yes! We do see patients in our Clinic and treat them for various types of malocclusion. Malocclusion is a common condition in which the surfaces of the teeth are not aligned properly. Our residents and faculty practice the treatment of malocclusion using various techniques and cutting edge technology. For more information on becoming a patient, please review our welcome letter and application.

The Dental School is located at the corner of Michigan Street and Barnhill Drive. We're just south of the Riley Outpatient Center. The Orthodontics and Oral Facial Genetics Department (including our clinic) is located on the second floor of the Dental School. Click here for a campus map. Patients can park in the Vermont Street Garage for their intial visit; we will validate your parking at check-in. You will be given a parking pass for future appointments. PLEASE DO NOT PARK IN THE EMPLOYEE LOT; YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE TICKET.

Unfortunately, we’re not able to give an exact fee schedule without consultation to determine what treatment plan will be used to give you and your loved ones the best smile possible. However, you can call 317-274-5621 for information on some upfront costs. Be sure to bring the screening appointment fee with you to your first visit.

Treatment is performed by our orthodontics residents under the guide of a licensed faculty member, many of whom maintain their own private practice. Typical length of treatment is 24 to 30 months. Of course, treatment can be shorter or longer depending on the type of treatment and patient/guardian cooperation. We are eager to work with you to keep treatment times as short as possible.

Being a good patient is imperative to effective treatment of malocclusion. Most of the treatment that takes place is outside of our clinic, so it is important you follow our instructions to ensure your treatment goes according to plan. This includes keeping your appointments, maintaining good hygiene (flossing and brushing are crucial during treatment), and wearing your retainer if applicable.

Appointments for our Graduate Clinic are Tuesday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, subject to change. Our Undergraduate Clinic is on Mondays from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. As we are an educational institution, we are closed on certain holidays in addition to various University-specific holidays and enrichment programs. You can call us at 317-274-8573 to schedule. Occasionally there might be times we have to modify your appointment. We will endeavor to notify you as soon as possible if we are unable to keep the original arrangement.

The Clinic is closed from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM for lunch. Staff, faculty, and students are not on duty.

As an educational institution, we understand that many cannot afford the upfront cost of orthodontia. Therefore, we have several options available for our patients.

• NEW – Monthly Payment Plan – we can work with you to determine a down-payment and monthly payment plan based on your treatment
  
  
• Payroll Deduction – IU employees can payroll deduct treatment (up to $1,000—subject to policies described above)
  
  
• Chase Health Advance Financing - loan financing for up to $12,000 for periods of 24, 36, or 48 months
