Mission Statement
The mission of the Department of Oral Pathology, Medicine and Radiology is to provide exemplary educational programs, research, and patient care services in the diagnostic sciences and medical management of patients. The department serves as the gateway for the introduction of patients and students to patient care at Indiana University School of Dentistry.
Vision
The vision of the department is to be a nationally recognized center of excellence and referral unit for exemplary education, patient care services and research in oro-facial diagnostic sciences.
OPMR Faculty Participation in IU/Moi/AMPATH Collaboration 2012
During the calendar year 2012 several OPMR faculty actively participated in the IU/Moi/AMPATH collaboration. Dr. Ginat Mirowski participated in a faculty exchange visit in for two weeks June. She gave multiple presentations to dental students, hospital staff and the Kenya Dental Association, in addition to touring the hospital wards. Dr. Mythily Srinivasan continued her collaborative research project on oral manifestations of HIV, tobacco use and salivary profile. This is an ongoing project involving Drs. William Tierney and Kara Wools-Kaloustian at IUSM and the subject of an evolving NIH grant proposal. Dr. Lawrence Goldblatt spent a week at MU School of Dentistry and AMPATH continuing his work with Moi University faculty formalizing the Oral Health Component of AMPATH Primary Care.
