For a high resolution imaging observation, it is critical that any specimen has a 10~20 micron of an appropriate metal. Gold-palladium (Au-Pd) alloy is available.

Evaporator/ Denton Vacuum DV-502A

This instrument is mainly used for carbon coating to be used in micro-chemical analysis, which detects characteristic X-ray. Coating with other materials such as gold, gold- palladium alloy, and aluminum is also available.
