Dr. Steven Haug to Be Installed as President of American Academy of Maxillofacial Prosthetics

IU School of Dentistry faculty member Dr. Steven Haug, a professor of prosthodontics, will be installed as president of one of the country’s leading organizations in dentistry.

As president-elect of the American Academy of Maxillofacial Prosthetics, he is set to begin serving his one-year term as president at the close of the organization's annual meeting in Scottsdale, Ariz., on Nov. 1.

Dr. Haug has been a fellow of the academy for 17 years and a member of the IU dental faculty since 1988. A dental graduate of the State University of New York at Stony Brook, he completed a general practice residency at University Hospital Stony Brook, prosthodontic training at the Medical College of Georgia, and a maxillofacial prosthetics fellowship at the University of Missouri – Kansas City. He also holds an IU master’s degree in dental materials.

He is a diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics and a fellow of the American College of Prosthodontists. He is a past president of the college’s Indiana section. Dr. Haug has served as a consultant to the American Dental Association Council on Scientific Affairs since 2005.
