Timothy Brown appointed IU dental school's assistant dean for finance and administration
Timothy P. Brown has been appointed Indiana University School of Dentistry (IUSD) assistant dean for finance and administration, Dean John Williams announced.
The assistant deanship replaces the dental school’s former position of chief financial officer.
“Attention to strategic financial matters will be a key responsibility,” Dr. Williams said. Brown’s expertise will be most beneficial to the school as it deals with issues such as the rapidly changing health care reimbursement financial environment and enhancing clinical efficiency, he said.
Mr. Brown comes to his dental school appointment after a 20-year career at the Indiana University School of Medicine. He served as the medical school’s associate chief financial officer for the past 12 years and was interim associate dean for administration, operation and finance in 2011-2012. While at the medical school, he directed the daily operations of the Office of Financial Affairs, provided leadership in the areas of strategic financial planning and capital investment, and provided evaluation and management of school-wide business operations.
Mr. Brown received a Bachelor’s of Science, majoring in finance, and an MBA from Indiana University.
