Great American Smoke-Out at IUPUI
"Breathe Easy Indy"
Thursday, November 20, is the 32nd Great American Smokeout. The Great
American Smokeout was inaugurated in 1976 to inspire and encourage smokers to
quit for one day.
The American Cancer Society has partnered with Indiana University Hospital and the IU Simon Cancer Center, Methodist Hospital, Wishard Health Services, IUPUI Campus Center and Riley Hospital for Children to encourage central Indiana residents to "Breathe Easy" on November 20.
The public is welcome to attend Great American Smokeout activities from 10 a.m.
to 2 p.m. on November 20 for activities at each of the following locations:
IUPUI Campus Center
IU Hospital (Central Elevators)

Health screenings including CO readings, Blood pressure readings, and oral
cancer self-screening tips

Computer kiosks for tobacco self-assessments
Riley Hospital For Children

"Smoke-Free Me" Photo Shoot!

Spiderman comic books and picture frame decorating

Sheriff Anderson to make guest appearance!

Smokers who want to trade in their cigarettes can register to win a Wii, will receive 2 free weeks at a local gym, 10% discounts on food from the IUPUI food court,
free Holiday drinks from Starbucks, and hotel stays and free dinners at local
Indianapolis fare!
