Goal To
understand the factors that play a central role in chronic
inflammation and autoimmunity and identify potential targets for
developing therapeutic agents. Specific
Objectives
-
Understand
the mechanism/s action of CD28:CD152/CD80:CD86, the major T cell
costimulatory pathway.
-
Integrate
the structural and functional knowledge of the individual members of
the above pathway in identifying specific sites of interaction(s).
-
Develop
strategies to transfer the potential sites of interaction/s onto small
molecules.
-
Characterizing
the structural, functional and therapeutic potential of the small
molecules.
