    Dr. Burak Taskonak received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in February, 1998 from Marmara University School of Dentistry in Istanbul, Turkey. He completed coursework requirements for the specialty degree in prosthodontics while working as a private practitioner.  During his specialty training between the years of 1998 and 2000, he instructed clinical and preclinical dental students at Marmara University. He was awarded a fellowship in 1999 from New York University College of Dentistry for conducting research in dental biomaterials. Dr. Taskonak received his Ph.D. degree in August 2004 from the University of Florida specializing in Dental Biomaterials. Before joining the faculty at Indiana University, he worked as a post doctoral research associate at Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, Texas.
