Mission Specific Research Areas Program Director

Dr. Carlos González-Cabezas

To promote optimal oral and general health of Indiana citizens and others through developing or adapting methodologies and techniques for the adequate prevention and management of active secondary caries lesions

  • Determination of the frequency, location, and distribution of secondary caries in different populations

  • Development of methodologies to detect and monitor secondary caries at early stages in clinical conditions

  • Enhancement of our understanding of the dynamics of caries lesions developing at the restoration margins

  • Development of strategies to prevent, arrest, and/or remineralize secondary caries lesions
