Anderson T. Hara, DDS, MSD, PhD joined the
faculty at the Oral Health Research Institute (OHRI) in 2006 as a Visiting
Assistant Professor in the Department of Preventive and Community Dentistry
at the Indiana University School of Dentistry (IUSD). Dr. Hara is originally
from Brazil where he received his Dental, Master and PhD degrees from the
School of Dentistry of Piracicaba at the State University of Campinas. His
research activities in dentistry started in 1996, when as an undergraduate
student he was awarded with his first research scholarship. He received his
Dental degree in 1997 and his MSD in 2001, being accepted months later as a
PhD student at the same University. In 2003, he was a research scholar at
the OHRI/IUSD, in a "PhD sandwich program". In 2004, back in Brazil, he
defended his PhD thesis. In 2005, he returned to the Indiana University as a
post-doctoral fellow. He has published more than 30 research articles in
peer-reviewed international scientific journals. Currently, he is conducting
several research projects, most of them focusing on dental erosion, dental
remineralization and related topics.
