Hafsteinn Eggertsson holds the position of Assistant Professor in the
Department of Preventive and Community Dentistry at Indiana University
School of Dentistry. A native of Iceland, he received his dental degree
from the University of Iceland in 1989. He stayed in private practice in
Iceland and taught part time at his alma mater as a clinical and
pre-clinical instructor in Operative Dentistry and Pediatric Dentistry. In
1993, he entered the Operative Dentistry program at Indiana University. He
was awarded an M.S.D. degree in Operative Dentistry in 1997, and a Ph.D.
degree in Dental Sciences/Oral Biology in 2003, with emphasis on cariology
and caries detection. He held a visiting assistant professor position from
1999, and accepted a tenure track position in 2003.
