Residency Requirements
Applicants should be U.S. or Canadian citizens, rank in the top 25% of their dental school class, and have National Board scores of 88 or above. Individuals who do not meet these requirements, but who have acquired significant clinical experience (GPR, OMS internship, etc.) may be considered for admission if strong references support their application.
Application process
Indiana University participates in the Postdoctoral Application Support Service (PASS) of the American Dental
Education Association (ADEA) and the match.
Beginning with the 2010 application cycle, applicants to our program will be
able to register for a match number within the PASS applicant portal. This
will enable applicants to enter all necessary data at the PASS site, select one
or both services and submit/pay through ADEA. Data will flow to National Matching Services, Inc. (NMS) for all applicants who select the Dental Match
from the service menu, and ADEA will transmit the appropriate fees to NMS.
Three letters of recommendation are required. One must be from the Dean of your dental school and if available provide your class standing
and national board scores. The two other letters should be from full-time dental school faculty members. One of the letters should be from a full time oral and maxillofacial surgery faculty.
The ADEA PASS application provides evaluators with the option to submit
completed evaluation forms
electronically.
The following materials should be sent directly to OMS department:
- Official college transcript from all previous colleges or universities
- A small photograph (2" x 2")
- Details of externship or research
