Dr. Jeffrey Bennett completed a
2 year residency in anesthesia from the Medical College of Pennsylvania in 1986
and a residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery from the Long Island Jewish
Medical Center in 1990. He became professor and chair of the Department of Oral
Surgery and Hospital Dentistry in January 2004 after spending 12 years on the
faculty of the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine. He is a
Diplomate of both the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (ABOMS)
and the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology and a Fellow of the American
Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS) and the American Dental
Society of Anesthesiology (ADSA). He is active in organized dentistry and has
served in many leadership positions and is a regularly invited speaker at
national and international meetings. He has numerous publications and has edited
both texts and clinics. Current positions include anesthesia section editor for
the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, member of the Executive Committee
of the AAOMS Faculty Section, member of the AAOMS Committee on Residency
Accreditation, anesthesia section chair of the OMSSAT (Oral and Maxillofacial
Surgery Self Assessment Test), and board examiner for ABOMS. A representative
list of past positions includes: President of the Connecticut Society of Oral
and Maxillofacial Surgeons, President of the ADSA, and President of the OMFS
section of the American Association of Dental Research (AADR). |
