Dr. Alan R. Gould is a nationally recognized expert in the field of oral & maxillofacial pathology.  He was recently elected by his peers in the American Academy of Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology to a second consecutive three-year tem as Editor of the Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology Section of Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, Oral Radiology & Endodontics, and he continues to serve in that role.  He has served the American Dental Association as a consultant in oral disease nomenclature, dental procedure coding, and dental accreditation.  He served on the Faculty of the University of Louisville School of Dentistry for 25 years, and holds medical staff appointments with four hospitals.  He is also a member of the Oldham County Kentucky Board of Health.  In addition to his duties as Director of the Oral Pathology Group here at IUSD, Dr. Gould sees clinical oral & maxillofacial patients in a private practice in Louisville, KY.  Dr. Gould received his DDS from the UCLA School of Dentistry (1976), and a Master of Science degree in Oral Pathology from Indiana University School of Dentistry (1978).  He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology.
