Two Postdoctoral Fellowships in Oral Biology
Description: To elucidate the effects that tobacco and tobacco
alternatives, as well as components of tobacco, have on cellular functions.
In particular, how they affect cell viability and proliferation, cytokine/growth
factor expression, extracellular matrix remodeling, oxidative stress, and tumor
development will be studied. In addition, the effects they have on
biofilms will be examined.
Degree Requirements: Ph.D. or M.D.

One postdoctoral fellow is sought for a cell
signaling laboratory
The suitable candidate will perform studies aimed at
identifying and investigating signaling proteins involved in regulating bone
resorption by osteoclasts. Specifically, our lab uses both ex vivo and
in vitro approaches to study the mechanism of action of several tyrosine
kinases and GTP-binding proteins on the ability of osteoclasts to adhere,
migrate and degrade bone. Opportunities for multiple collaborations within the
School/University also exist.
Candidates must have a strong signaling, cell
biology and molecular biology experience, including experience with the primary
cells. Prior experience or a willingness to work with rodents is a must.
Experience in histological analysis of bone and microscopic analysis of fixed
and live cells is also highly desirable. Applicants with a recent Ph.D or M.D
are encouraged to apply.
Interested candidates should submit a curriculum
vitae, statement of research interest and three letters of recommendation
electronically to Dr. A. Bruzzaniti, Indiana University School of Dentistry,
Indianapolis, IN. email:
abruzzan@iupui.edu. Review of
applicants will begin June 1st and will continue until the position
is filled. Indiana University is an EEO/AA employer.
