Pay-per-view options
The Dental Library attempts to meet the needs of its patrons by providing access to hundreds of print and electronic journals. For those items not available from our collection, Interlibrary Loan
(ILL) is a viable option. Occasionally, however, the item is not available for
loan, or the article is needed immediately. At these times the Pay-per-view option is available to our patrons. Below are links to
four suppliers of articles on a Pay-per-view basis. Pricing will vary from title to title within these services.
Each publisher determines its own copyright and processing fees. Some Individual
publishers also offer this service from their journal website.
HIGHWIRE PRESS
- Prices range from $5 - $36 - Average price is $19
You will be asked to create a free account. Two options
for purchase are available - Paid access to one article (pay-per-view) or paid
access to all articles (site pass). Most major credit cards are accepted.
SCIENCE DIRECT –
Price for Elsevier journal articles is $35 - Price for other publishers
varies
Registration is required. The
price of the article is visible before the article is ordered. Most major
credit cards are accepted.
INGENTA
– Pricing varies
Use the shopping cart facility to
pay-per-view articles. These can be downloaded and saved immediately or within
24 hours. Pay-per-view charges are set by the individual publisher, together
with an IngentaConnect delivery charge of $10.00 for online and $15.00 for fax
or Ariel (an electronic delivery system) deliveries. Issues and volumes of certain publications can also be
purchased. Additionally, there are also a number of publications with sample issues or
free trials available. IngentaConnect accepts all major credit cards.
OVID

You will be asked to create an
account. This account allows you to link to your currently available PayPerView
articles or you can revisit your account at any time to amend or view your
current account information. Purchased articles can be viewed
for 24-hours from purchase and may be downloaded, emailed, or saved to another
location. PayPerView articles can be purchased by users of the following
searching platforms:
