John Hurty began promoting a dental health program for children.
In 1900,
Dr. Hurty began to study the effect of fluorine on the
hardness of enamel & noted the importance of this relationship
In 1911, as secretary of the Indiana State Board of Health,
Dr. Hurty
established a
program
of preventive dentistry for children
He died in 1925.
