Dear Friends,
The Hine Legacy Society was created in 1998 as a way of recognizing alumni and friends who make a deferred gift benefiting the Indiana University School of Dentistry.
Deferred gifts usually involve making
a charitable gift through your estate plan or some other life income arrangement.
As the son of Maynard K. Hine, I wanted to write to let you know how proud the Hine
family is to have the planned giving society at Indiana University School of Dentistry
named in honor of my father. Dad's
devotion and commitment to the profession of dentistry and dental education was
profound. He left a lasting impression
on so many whose lives he touched as a mentor and adviser during his 52-year career
as a faculty member and Dean of the Indiana University School of Dentistry. In fact,
in October 2007, my father will be inducted into the Pierre Fauchard Academy Hall
of Fame as acknowledgement of his lifetime contributions to the profession of dentistry
and dental education.
My father never stopped looking ahead, always
envisioning ideas that could benefit and advance dental education. He loved Indiana University School of Dentistry and
was very thankful for all of the people who worked hard as a team to support and
create a world class dental school. To that end, I am writing to remind you of the
opportunity to honor your own legacy in dentistry by joining those who have invested
in the future of Indiana University School of Dentistry by making planned or
deferred gift arrangements.
Deferred gifts can be made in many ways and all offer their own benefits, to both
you and the School. You can start with
setting up a bequest in your will or trust, which allows you to keep your assets during your lifetime in case you need them. Other gift arrangements, known as life income gifts, can help you to give to the
Indiana University School of Dentistry and receive something in return—a lifetime
of income payments.
Please contact Mr. John Hoffman, Director of Development, if you have included Indiana
University School of Dentistry in your estate planning or for more information about
how you can make a difference in the future of dental education at Indiana University
School of Dentistry. Mr. Hoffman can
be contacted at (317) 274-5313.
I hope you will join my family and the many others who have designated a deferred
gift to benefit Indiana University School of Dentistry. Thank you in advance for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Dr. William C. Hine Sr.
