On behalf of all the faculty, staff and students here at I.U. School of Dentistry, I want to express to you our sincerest gratitude for your generous support for our school.

So many good things have transpired during the past year.  The Commission on Dental Accreditation has awarded all the programs site visited a year ago a status of Approval With No Reporting Requirements, a wonderful vote of confidence that we are attending properly to the basic accreditation standards while certainly taking the road less traveled in pursuing our contemporary curriculum and so many other exciting avenues.  Our funded research program continues to blossom.  Our dental students are performing extremely well in their licensing examinations.  Our service-learning program engaging our community near and far continues to grow.  While we had to say goodbye to six of our long-time faculty members as they transitioned into retirement, we are pleased to be well on our way to identifying new leadership from both within and outside the school to help lead us into the next phase of our future.  Moreover, dynamic new leadership at both the university and campus levels promise to bring to us even more new opportunities and promise in the years ahead.  All these developments combine to position our School of Dentistry extremely well for the future.

Philanthropy, whether in the form of time, talent or treasure, will increasingly make the difference in our being able to achieve our noble and necessary missions of education, research, patient care and service.  The incredibly intelligent and capable generation of young people interested in the profession of dentistry will continue to build on the work that we have done, but only if we can provide them with a physical, intellectual and personal environment which they are confident will support their success.  That is why your contributions are so important.  There are so many wonderful things to do and so much to look forward to in the years to come.  Nothing is more important to our success than the partnership and belief in our future you have demonstrated by your generosity. 

We salute you and invite you to continue your commitment and to encourage those of your colleagues and friends who share this commitment to do the same.
