Student forms Dissertation Research
Committee to be composed of: 1) Dissertation Advisor as Chair (must be a
full IU Graduate School faculty member); 2) two members of the IU Graduate
School faculty from the Dental School; 3) one member of the IU Graduate
School faculty from a department outside of the Dental school (usually
from minor department); and 4) one expert in the specific area of the
dissertation research outside of the Indiana University system (will
usually be an IU Graduate School faculty affiliate member or meet the
requirements for affiliate membership). More than 1/2 of the
committee needs to be composed of full members of the IU Graduate School
faculty. Once the Research committee has approved the student's
project and the committee has been nominated and accepted by the Associate
Dean for Graduate Education, the student is eligible for supply funding
from the school ($1000/yr). |

Student's Dissertation Research
Committee, except for outside member, will meet no less than twice
annually to assess progress and make appropriate suggestions. |
